Energy performance certificate (EPC)

It’s the first step to achieve comfort and energy economy in your house. Information is power.

  • It’s a document that evaluates the building energy efficiency in a scale of F (Low efficiency) to A+ (high efficiency), and is produced by a qualified accessor (PQ);
  • It contains information about your house characteristics, as wall and roof insulation, windows, ventilation systems, heating and cooling systems, domestic hot water systems, and the effect of each one of them on energy consumption.
  • Indicates improvement measures that one can follow (voluntarily) in order to reduce consumption, improve thermal comfort and health conditions inside the building.
  • Allows access to fiscal benefits and specific funding, when available
  • Adds value to your house by itself

The EPC turned 10 years old in January 2019, meaning that homeowners thinking of selling their homes should check if their energy performance rating is still valid, as they will not be able to sell their home without one.

The qualified accessors in Portugal divide in two professional categories: PQ-I and PQ-II, each one with competences defined by law.

zOnatérmica’s team has accessors of both PQ-I and PQ-II categories with experience in both small and large residential and commercial buildings, as in supporting funding projects through IFFRU and other similar programs;
